Creator of Irreverent Wal-Mart Spoof Itching to Press LAUNCH Button

Red Wing, MN – CREATORS OF IRREVERENT MUSICAL WAL-MART SPOOF SET TO BEGIN CROWD-FUNDING CAMPAIGN.

The fundraising and awareness-building campaign for the Wal-Mart parody musical, “World-Mart: A Musical Love Story”, launches December 1, 2015 on KICKSTARTER.

The brain child of Lee A. Eide, a longtime screenwriter who’s also been a cashier at Wal-Mart for five years, the play is a multi-genre tale that speeds along faster than the typical Wal-Mart store manager’s morning walk through.

“It’s not only a spoof of Wal-Mart”. begins playwright Eide “but also a spoof of the musical genre. Musicals are so unabashedly contrived: One minute you have characters engaged in a typical, normal activity like having conversation over coffee at the kitchen table and the next instant one or both characters on their feet singing their hearts out. I love it.”

Stephen Craig plays the lead role, an Asian-American cashier named Stephen Lee who’s a cashier on the night shift for a Walmart-like company.

He falls in love, almost has sex in family restroom, ends up imprisoned in distant planet along with Queen Ofall (bears striking resemblance to woman he falls in love with on Earth), breaks out of prison, uses Dorothy-like teleportation trick to return to Earth.

And then things get really interesting: psychedelic-mushroom doping scandal at work, blackmail, murder charges, two stints on Death Row and more.

Eide and Craig are looking for a director and /or producer to help them with the project. Once they find that person, they will recruit actors and actresses to fill the supporting roles.
