Advice On Remodeling Your Bathroom Shower

Overtime our bathroom shower no longer has that wow factor that it once had on us when we first lay eyes on it. In time, we will all need to face the fact that our bathroom needs an update in order to keep the overall bathroom looking fresh and new. Make sure that you plan out your bathroom remodel ideas carefully before hand so that you don’t have to run into a mess later on. There are many different components that are involved in bathroom remodeling such as choosing the new flooring that will go in place, selecting shower accessories such as curtains, rods, shower knobs, soap holder, etc. Because there are so many different options for you to decide on, trying to pick out the right one can be quite a challenge in itself. Try to gather up some ideas for what it is that you want to have in the completed bathroom remodel so that the process can go smoothly and complete on time.

First, let’s talk about the shower itself. Usually, the two choices that you have are is to either have an independent stand in shower or a shower head installed into a tub. Some people would prefer to completely remove the bathtub or shower in order to convert it into the other. This requires more time and dedication on your part so be prepared. There are some premade shower installation kits available on the market that you can install yourself without too much of a hassle. Many of these shower installation kits can be found at local home improvement stores. These types of shower kits are made so that they can be installed into the corner of your bathroom easily and quickly. Shower kits will take off a load of burden from your decision making process because they come with a lot of the things that you need to complete the coherent look. Things such as towels, curtain rods, shower knobs, and handles are all included.

If a premolded shower doesn’t sound like it will give you that custom appeal, then you can opt to build your own stand in shower by laying tiles. Always clear out any old tiling that are in place. You should always install the new tiles on a cleared out floor instead of installing them on preexisting tiles. Many options exist if you want to do this. You can either install individual pieces of shower tiles or install an entire one piece shower wall. Tile patterns are great, but you won’t be able to have any kind of custom design tile patterns if you choose to use them. Whether you want to install a premolded shower or lay down custom tiling is entirely dependent upon how much time and money you are willing to invest into the project.

After the type of shower and the shower tiling has been decided, the next thing that you need to decide upon are the shower flooring. For those who are opting to go with a bathtub with shower head extension, then you won’t have to worry about laying down the shower floorings. Many times people will want their showers to have the same flooring tiles as those found on the shower walls. Alternatively, you may want your shower tile to match the color and texture of the flooring in your bathroom. So you see, there are quite a few options available and the how you want to do it is all up to what kind of look that you want to accomplish.

By planning out everything from the very beginning, you can save yourself a lot of headaches later on. Be sure to manage your budget wisely as remodeling can become quite costly. Calculate everything out beforehand so that you won’t be sticker shock later on.
