Tata Merlin to be launched on September 27
Tata cars are very popular in India and Tata Motors has planned to launch the new Tata Merlin on September 27. As per our sources if the car will not be launched on September 27 then it will be launched in the Auto Expo 2012. The Tata Merlin Price is not yet announced but it is expected to be around Rs 10 lakh. The main competitor of Tata Merlin will be Mahindra XUV 500 which also going to be launched in the month of September. The main competition between the two cars will be based on price. Since the price of Mahindra XUV 500 is expected to be Rs 15 lakh, Tata Merlin can get sales pick up due to low expected price of Rs 10 lakh.
As per our sources, the Tata Merlin specifications reveal that the car will be an SUV with a powerful 2.2 litre DICOR 2179 cc engine which will produce the power of 140 BHP and a torque of 320 NM. The mileage given by the car will be 11 kmpl in the city and 15 kmpl on highways.
The Tata Merlin features reveal that the car is based on Tata Safari platform which is running on the Indian roads for more than 10 years. The features of Tata Merlin will be based on Tata Aria and Tata Safari. Tata Merlin will have new headlights, tail lights, and fog lamps. The Tata Merlin can be launched in three colors which are Black, Silver, and Grey. The dimensions of the Tata Merlin includes length 4650 mm, width 1918 mm, and height 1925 mm.
Other features of Tata Merlin reveal include good and better interiors than Tata Safari. The Tata Merlin will be a 7 seater car with arm rest on driver seat. Tata Merlin also consists of MP3 player, tachometer, two trip meter, AC with climate control and many other features.
