Mahindra XUV 500 ready to hit Indian shores
Mahindra and Mahindra (M&M), the Indian SUV specialist is all set to launch it’s Global SUV that has been under development under the project name W201. The new Mahindra SUV will be called as Mahindra XUV 500, which is pronounced as “XUV5 double 0hh”. Mahindra Cars claims that the XUV 500 is truly a global car as it has received inputs from experts across the Europe, Australia and South Africa. Mahindra XUV 500 Price in India is speculated between Rs. 14 to 15 lakh. The Mahindra XUV 500 will be launched on 28th September in Indian auto market, as per media reports.
Mahindra XVU 500 features will be adorned with a 2179cc engine that will be powered by the same 2.2 litre mHawk diesel engine which is currently powers its most popular SUV Mahindra Scorpio. The engine can deliver 86.7 kw of maximum power with 290 Nm of maximum torque. The engine of XUV 500 would adorned a 5 speed manual transmission gear box which provides power to each wheel at every shift.
Mahindra XVU 500 specifications reveal that the XUV 500 will be available in both 4×2 and 4×4 variants. It would be loaded with the advanced features like steering mounted audio control, parking sensors, cruise control, six airbags for safety, ABS (Anti Braking System) for avoid skidding and with EBD (Electronic Brake Distribution) etc. Mahindra XUV 500 is expected to have 17 inch all-alloy wheels.
Mahindra XUV 500 is ready to compete with the likes of Toyota Fortuner, Chevrolet Captiva, Mitubishi Outlander, Honda CR-V in a premier SUV segment. According to planned structure,M&M would be manufacturing the new SUV XUV500 at its Chakan plant based in Pune. Apart from introducing it in South African auto market, The company also aim to offer the model in other international countries such as Europe, Africa, Australia and Latin America.
