Games for an Asus Laptop
Asus laptops and notebooks are renowned for their small size. These are tiny computers that can fit inside a bag with ease and often weigh no more than a book or two. Of course in order to achieve this portability they do make some sacrifices – to the processing power, to the RAM, etc. This is something you won’t likely notice when you’re surfing the web or watching videos, but it will affect your ability to play the latest 3D games.
The solution? If you want to play games on an Asus laptop then just avoid the 3D ones. There are plenty of great modern PC games that you can download from sites such as Steam which utilize 2D graphics and that are suitable for smaller Asus laptops. Here we will run through a few of the best.
Rayman Origins: This will require quite a good monitor and a dedicated graphics card, but some Asus laptops will be able to play it. This is the Rayman franchise returning to its two dimensional routes in a very glorious fashion. The gameplay is highly old-school in approach, but it has a lot of modern twists. What really makes it stand out though are the incredible HD graphics – you never knew that a 2D game could look so beautiful.
Super Meat Boy: This started life on Xbox live but since came to PC’s. It’s another 2D platformer making it ideal for your Asus laptops, and with the resolution down it will run on even the slower models. However it’s also still a great game, featuring some great level design leading to plenty of gory demises. What makes it even more fun though is the ability to watch a replay of all your previous selves attempting and failing to complete the level together after you’ve beaten each stage.
World of Goo: World of Goo has been released on everything from iPhone to Android phones, but was originally an indie PC creation. It’s earned its success through its original premise that sees you dragging balls of goo in order to build a structure, and through its fantastic music score and sense of fun. Definitely worth checking out.
Osmos: Osmos is a very surreal and atmospheric take on the puzzle game which features floating blobs of (presumably) bacteria which you move by clicking either side of to dispel mass. It’s slow paced and the novelty wears off, but it’s worth experiencing for the music alone.
Pixel Junk: Like Osmos, Pixel junk is a very stylistic game for your Asus laptop. The one available for PC is called ‘Pixel Junk Eden’ and sees you controlling a small grub-like creature leaping from plant to plant. The stylized graphics are what sets it apart, as the worlds consist entirely of glowing neon plants against a stark black backroung – and all of it is in incredible HD yet again.
Worms: It’s an old classic, but it’s had countless re-inventions. The new Worms is just as good as all those which preceded it but adds new ideas and better graphics to the franchise.
These games will keep you entertained for a while and will work on most Asus laptops Australia. Click either link for more on Asus laptops.
