Patients with conditions such as an eating disorder often seek out treatment help from professionals who, for many reasons, often are not up-to-date on recent developments in their field. For many treatment providers such as physicians, therapists and nutritionist, their practice can get very busy and leave little time to participate in continuing medical education. For specialties such as eating disorder treatment, much of the research conducted gets reported in an array of various scientific journals that are not available to most providers or are simply cost prohibitive since many journal subscriptions can be hundreds of dollars a year of 12 issues. Trade conferences, while very helpful for gaining some additional training, are also expensive and limited by time and specialty. The Eating Disorder News Network (EDNN) is trying to bridge the gap and get the latest information out to patients and treatment providers.
