Stress Relief Work Through These Stress Busters

Regardless of our occupation or where we work, we always encounter stress. In the workplace, stress may come from different circumstances or situations we face while we do our jobs, or from how we perceive our own performances. Stress is actually helpful if in little amounts since is triggers our fight or flight response. This response involves the release of adrenalin which gives us the more stamina, strength, and the ability to work faster. If left unchecked, however, our body goes into overload and breaks us physically and mentally.

Since stress is unavoidable, what we can do is ensure that it does not accumulate and cause us problems with our performance. Here are a few tips for you to be able to immediately disperse the stressors youre facing:

Take a deep breath: When you start feeling the effects of stress, stop whatever youre doing and take a few deep breaths. Doing so allows more oxygen into your body that you instantly feel relaxed. Taking deep breaths also helps composure, which in the long run, is really what you need to get through a stressful situation.

Know your limits: We are not superheroes. We have limits as to what we can do. Most of the stresses we get from the office are a result of our own actions. We subject our own selves to time pressure by agreeing to more workload than we know we can handle. Committing yourself to tasks that you know you cannot finish gives you more things to worry about. You have to learn how to say NO.

Take a break: Regular short breaks allow your body to relax and recharge even just for a few minutes. This gives you more energy and a clearer mind by the time you get back to work. It is best if you leave your desk. Take a walk. Get a cup of coffee. Stay in the pantry. Talk to friends. Break the monotony of your work.

There are more things that you can do in order to handle the stress that you deal with while at work. The best part about this is that you do not need to go anywhere or pay any amount to relax. The important thing is that you recognize and know how to handle all the stressors that might come your way.
