MCSE Networking CBT Home-Study Online Training Courses – An Analysis

Considering an MCSE? If so, it’s probable that you’ll fall into one of two camps: You’re already a professional and you need to formalise your skill set with the Microsoft qualification. Or this could be your first step into the computer workplace, and you’ve discovered there’s a huge demand for men and women who are commercially qualified.

Always make sure you prove conclusively that the training provider you’re using is supplying you with the latest Microsoft level. Many trainees get frustrated when they realise they’ve been learning from an out-of-date syllabus which will have to be revised. Be on your guard for training companies that are only trying to make a sale. Understand that buying a course for an MCSE is the same in a way as buying a car. They are not all equal; some will serve you very well, whilst some will be a big disappointment. A worthy company will offer you time, expertise and advice to make sure a course is right for you. With those who have confidence in their programs, you will be able to look at examples of training materials prior to registering.

Of all the important things to consider, one of the most essential is always full 24×7 support with expert mentors and instructors. It’s an all too common story to find providers that only provide office hours (or extended office hours) support. Locate training schools with proper support available at all hours of the day and night (even if it’s early hours on Sunday morning!) You want 24×7 direct access to mentors and instructors, and not a message system as this will slow you down – parked in a queue of others waiting to be called back when it’s convenient for them.

World-class organisations provide an online 24×7 package involving many support centres throughout multiple time-zones. You will have an easy to use interface which accesses the most appropriate office at any time of day or night: Support when you need it. Always pick an educator that cares. Because only 24×7 round-the-clock live support provides the necessary backup.

In first place for the most common difficulty in IT training is often the ‘in-centre’ workshop requirement. A lot of training companies extol the virtues of the so-called ‘benefits’ of these classes, however, they quickly become a burden to be carried because of:

* All the travelling required – multiple trips and usually over 100 miles a pop.

* Workshop access; frequently Mon-Fri and sometimes two to three days together. It’s not easy to get the work-leave.

* And don’t forget the lost vacation days. We typically get four weeks vacation allowance. If over 50 percent is used in classes, then we haven’t got much left for ourselves.

* Workshop days invariably end up bloated with students.

* Some students want to progress quickly, but some need a more gentle learning curve and not be pushed beyond their comfort-zone. This brings tension and unrest in most workshops.

* Soaring travel costs – driving or taking public transport to the training college plus over-night bed and breakfast can mount up with each visit. If we just assume 5-10 centre-days costing 35 pounds for a single over-night room, plus a petrol cost of 40 pounds and 15.00 for food, that equates to four to nine hundred pounds of extra costs to cover.

* Don’t risk any chance of being ignored for a lift up the ladder or wage increases because your employer knows you’re retraining.

* It’s not unusual to find that, at times, it’s uncomfortable to raise questions when surrounded by other students – because none of us wants to look like we don’t understand.

* It should be remembered that events are nigh on impossible to attend, if you work or live away for some part of the year.

Doesn’t it make so much more sense to be taught when it’s convenient for you – not the company – and use instructor-led videos with interactive lab’s. You can train wherever you want. If you have a laptop, why not catch a little sun in your garden as you work. If you have any problems then use the provided 24×7 live support. Classes and lessons can be repeated whenever you like – repetition aids memory. And note-taking becomes a thing of the past – everything is prepared ready. Whilst it’s impossible to avoid every single problem, it undoubtedly vastly reduces stress and simplifies things. Plus you’ve got less hassle, travel and costs.
