CompTIA Networking Technical Support CBT PC Home-Study Training Simplified
In the modern world, support workers who are able to solve problems with computers and networks, and give regular assistance to users, are hugely valuable in all sections of the workplace. Due to the progressively daunting complexities of technology, many more competent professionals are being looked for to run the smooth operation of functions we’ve come to rely on.
The world of information technology is one of the more stimulating and innovative industries you could be involved with. To be working on the cutting-edge of technology is to do your bit in the gigantic changes that will affect us all over the next generation. We’ve only just begun to get a feel for how technology will affect our lives in the future. Computers and the web will massively transform how we view and interact with the rest of the world over the next few years.
Should receiving a good salary be way up on your goal sheet, then you will welcome the news that the average salary of most men and women in IT is much higher than with the rest of the economy. Because the IT market sector is still emerging year on year, it’s looking good that the need for certified IT specialists will continue to boom for a good while yet.
It only makes sense to consider study paths which will progress to industry recognised accreditations. There’s a plethora of small colleges proposing minor ‘in-house’ certificates that are essentially useless when you start your job-search. You’ll find that only recognised certification from the major players like Microsoft, Adobe, CompTIA and Cisco will mean anything to employers.
A subtle way that course providers make a lot more is by charging for exams up-front and then including an ‘Exam Guarantee’. It looks impressive, until you think it through:
We all know that we’re still footing the bill for it – it’s quite obvious to see that it’s already been included in the overall price charged by the training company. It’s definitely not free (although some people will believe anything the marketing companies think up these days!) Passing first time is everyone’s goal. Entering examinations when it’s appropriate and paying as you go makes it far more likely you’ll pass first time – you take it seriously and think carefully about the costs.
Sit the exam somewhere close to home and hold on to your money and pay for the exam when you take it. Huge profits are netted by a number of companies that take the exam money up-front. For quite legitimate reasons, a number of students don’t get to do their exams and so they pocket the rest. Astoundingly enough, there are providers that actually bank on it – as that’s very profitable for them. Additionally, exam guarantees often have very little value. The majority of organisations will not pay again for an exam until you’ve completely satisfied them that you’re ready this time.
Splashing out often many hundreds of pounds extra on an ‘Exam Guarantee’ is naive – when a commitment to studying and the use of authorised exam preparation tools is what will get you through.
Often, students don’t think to check on a painfully important area – how their company breaks up the courseware elements, and into how many bits. Individual deliveries for each training module stage by stage, taking into account your exam passes is the normal way of receiving your courseware. This sounds logical, but you should take these factors into account: What if for some reason you don’t get to the end of all the sections or exams? And what if the order provided doesn’t meet your requirements? Without any fault on your part, you may go a little slower and therefore not end up with all the modules.
The very best situation would see you getting all your study materials couriered to your address right at the beginning; the complete package! Thus avoiding any future problems that could impede your capacity to get everything done.
