There are two A+ exams and sections to study, and you’re expected to achieve certification in both to be thought of as qualified. If you decide to become a student on the CompTIA A+, you’ll become familiar with how to build and repair PC’s and operate in antistatic conditions. Diagnostic techniques and fault finding are also on the syllabus, as is remote access. If you’re considering being someone who works for a larger company – fixing and supporting networks, build on A+ with Network+, or consider an MCSA or MCSE with Microsoft as you’ll need a wider knowledge of the way networks work.
Be watchful that any qualifications you’re working towards will be recognised by employers and are bang up to date. Training companies own certificates are usually worthless. Only properly recognised examinations from the top companies like Microsoft, CompTIA, Cisco and Adobe will open the doors to employers.

But don’t place too much emphasis on it – it’s quite easy for eager sales people to make too much of it. Ultimately, the huge shortage of staff in Britain is what will enable you to get a job.

Sell yourself… Work hard to get in front of employers. Don’t think a job’s just going to jump out in front of you.

This isn’t a lot of good if you’re lost and confused and only have a specific time you can study.
