Many people may feel Spanish is difficult if they’re not comfortable with learning languages. You could have heard somewhere that learning Spanish is the way to go because it’s less difficult than other languages. Actually, most languages are easy to learn. You just need to determine what learning tricks you’ll be using. Lots of suggestions and helpful tips are available to help you learn Spanish much easier. Here are a couple tricks you can use:
Find a good tutor, if possible. No question, CDs and books can be very good. But a tutor can answer questions that often times a CD/book cannot.There’s nothing wrong with a CD, or book. However a tutor can provide the kind of help you may not receive from a book/CD. Naturally, a language tutor should be fluent in the language they’re tutoring. They should be able to teach you about specific dialects within the language.
You understand and be understood better if you take the time to learn local dialects. More importantly, a tutor can tell you about the casual uses of the words you will be learning. Language CD’s and books are usually more formal in what they teach. However, you can learn slang from a tutor.
Enroll in a course. Some people are uncomfortable to learn Spanish with other people. In a course it’s standard practice to talk in the language while you’re learning. Lots of people find this intimidating.
You should still do it even if you make lots of mistakes. Everyone else makes the same mistakes, so what better time or place is there to do it? Everyone can all join in the mistake making! It’s certainly better than committing your mistakes in front of a stranger who may be less prone to forgiveness.
Keep in mind that perfection comes from practice. Be sure to always talk in your language as often as you can, and don’t be concerned about how it looks, or sounds. You can help to commit to memory new words if you use them in place of the appropriate words in your native tongue. For example, if you are learning Spanish try using “cena” instead of “dinner” or “uno” for “one.” By using the words often they’ll become second nature to you. Then you’ll understand the words when you hear them spoken. That is the best way to start piecing together translations when you speak with people who are fluent in the language you are trying to learn. There are a lot of different techniques you can employ if you need help learning Spanish. Many people get help when they start learning another language. You will find that some methods will work better for you than others. Test many learning strategies until you find one that appeals to you. When you do find a system, teacher or course that you like, stick with it and Spanish will soon become second nature to you!
