Water Purification
Water purification has become a major concern in the present situation where water is getting polluted at rapid rate leading to number of water borne diseases and deaths every year. As such people are now looking for different alternatives to purify contaminated water so that undesirable chemicals, materials, and harmful biological contaminants can be removed from it thus making it fit for drinking, cooking and other purposes. Different kinds of water purification alternatives like water filters, water purifiers and water softeners have been developed for cleaning water for various purposes including domestic as well as industrial needs. Some of the widely used forms of water purifiers include UV water purifiers and RO water purifiers.
RO Water Filters
Reverse osmosis or RO water purification is a water filtration method in which the unwanted materials are removed by applying pressure on contaminated water to pass through the semi permeable membrane so that the dirt or unwanted solute remains on the pressurized side and the pure water comes out on other side. So in RO water purification system the solvent or water moves from high solute concentration moves through a membrane to area of low solute concentration which is exactly opposite to that of osmosis. Hence it gets the name reverse osmosis. RO water filter is the best choice for domestic water purification needs in homes. A typical RO system is composed of an array of granular activated carbon or GAC pre-filters, the RO membrane, storage tank, and faucet to deliver the purified water to your countertop. Reverse osmosis systems usually vary in membrane quality, output capacity, and storage capacity.
UV Water Purifiers
UV treatment is an excellent choice to eliminate biological contamination from drinking water. It offers a number of advantages over other forms of water purification. As usually done in other forms it does not introduce any chemicals to the water, it does not produce any bi-product or alter the taste, pH, or other properties of water. In Ultra Violet water purification system a UV light source is used for purifying process where microorganisms are destroyed by UV rays. Moreover these UV water purifiers are easy and also cost-effective options to install and maintain and don’t require any special training for the purpose.
