A BETTER LIFE FOR THE ELDERLY
We are inclined to think of “Old Age” as something . . . . . . .”Old and dreary”, a “Dreaded Disease” This really need not be the case – after all, “Life is what you make it” and when there is purpose in life, one is more happy and healthy.
So many elderly today have worked hard all their lives, thinking that they have provided very well for their Old Age, never dreaming that the effects of inflation would consume most of their efforts. There are those who simply don`t have the the means to eat wholesome, healthy meals which should provide them with all the nutrients and minerals their bodies require for a life of enjoyment.
These “Golden Years” should be enjoyed by all, with plenty of stimulation, good food, good company, exercise and entertainment.
However, this certainly is not always the case, and we ask ourselves what can be done. Lets face it, one person cannot make much of a difference. We are inclined to think only of the Big Picture, but if each and every individual who felt this way made one small donation towards “Making a Difference” we certainly would get somewhere, and can you imagine the impact it would have on so many elderly people today.
Stress plays a big part in ones health, and the absence of good food can certainly cause stress with the lack of nutrients needed for Mental, Physical and emotional well-being.
A good ,healthy, balanced diet is a basic need in our daily lives, and when our bodies have been fed with all the essential nutrients, which would enable us to then exercise regularly, keeping healthy and fit, be it with a daily walk, or a game of bowls, what purpose and enjoyment one would experience, relieving the horrors of stress related illnesses.
A life rounded by wholesome food, daily exercise, enjoyment and fun, makes for a well balanced individual, and we have to face the fact that it wall begins with good nutrition.
