One Way To Use An Online Baby Registry

When I became pregnant a friend of mine persuaded me to create my baby registry as it would make life easier for me, and would also be extremely useful for family and friends to look through when choosing gifts.
I knew my unborn child was a girl, and by creating my own registry I was able to pinpoint all the areas within multiple stores that would be useful for me.

I already had a small boy so had learned how important it was to look for clothes that are not just pretty but also practical. Trying to dress and undress a newborn baby when it’s moving around can be difficult, so this was an important consideration for me.

I wanted my daughter to be comfortable, so the fabric had to be another consideration. The beauty of the baby registry is that you can look through so many different materials and designs and get ideas you may not have otherwise considered. This proved to be a great help to me, although the selection of beautiful clothes designed for small children, particularly girls, can make it difficult to choose.

I found some wonderful sleep suits and sleep sacks in different colors, and some of the suits came in sets of three each with their own specific design. Initially I wasn’t sure whether to buy newborn sizes or go straight to three months onwards. In the end I decided to buy some newborn sized one piece outfits that opened easily for diaper changing, as I didn’t want my baby girl to disappear into her clothing!

Choosing was easy because they were all well made and beautiful, but I must confess I was tempted to buy more than I needed. Common sense prevailed however, as babies grow quickly and I knew that whatever I chose would have limited wear.

Dresses for my baby girl were to prove to be more difficult. How can you possibly decide when there are so many lovely designs, shapes and colors. Going through the registry helped me to eliminate them one by one and choose the ones I thought would be the easiest to wash and retain their beautiful shape and design.

In some ways choosing clothes for a boy is so much easier. They usually come with tops and bottoms. This means you can mix and match making two outfits seem like three or four. A baby boy looks great in an all-in-one jump suit, and although these little suits are great for baby girls, for the most part as she grew I wanted my baby to be adorned in pretty dresses.

Coats, jackets, leggings, shoes and hats were to be found in abundance on the registry, and I was able to choose well by first establishing how easy they were to put on and take off, and whether the material would be suitable for a new baby’s delicate skin. Using the baby registry to buy clothes for my baby’s first year was easy, and an experience I very much enjoyed.
