How I Chose A Gift For My Employer’s Baby Boy
My employer had just given birth to a baby boy, and after all the excitement and congratulations had died down, I started looking through baby gifts books and magazines to try and get some idea as to what to buy as a special gift.
Buying for a new baby is not really difficult, as baby stores are full of wonderful baby toys, clothes and other accessories. My employer has also become my friend over the years, so I know the family quite well. In many ways this helped me to look for something I knew would be both appreciated and valued.
However, when I started looking round the stores the beautiful blankets, toys, baby clothing and wonderful sets of baby baskets with everything for both the mother and baby, it was well.mind boggling!
Suddenly I was faced with a dilemma. There were so many things to choose from, that I decided to take my time and look at all the wonderful gifts on offer before I made my decision.
Certainly new babies need lots of creams and baby lotions to keep them comfortable and fresh, and there are an abundance of these to be found in stores, and indeed in online baby stores. Beautiful baby pillows and bedding to match, delightful baby clothing, bonnets and booties, the choice is endless.
I thought about the fact that Dad was a vet and decided that maybe a themed basket full of baby animals embroidered on baby’s outfits and towels, plus small fun books for when the baby’s a little older. This was certainly something I would consider, but then I thought about maybe getting something that would look good in the baby’s newly decorated bedroom.
As I wandered through the section where the baby strollers and large cots were displayed I was amazed at the wonderful choices parents have today when choosing large items for their baby’s nursery. Some of the furniture was exquisite and would not only be a beautiful addition to any child’s room, but would be an extremely useful piece of furniture for years to come.
I pondered over a small silver box for baby’s first teeth through to a lovely teething ring with a silver charm dangling from it. Silver egg cups and beautifully decorated spoons were all tempting and the more I looked, the more confused I became. Apart from the normal baby gear, I must confess these items were difficult to resist.
Online baby stores give you the opportunity to plough through hundreds of wonderful baby gifts from the comfort of your own home, and if you’re uncertain about what to get this can be a bonus.
After looking online and working my way around many wonderful baby stores, I finally decided to go for a silver photo frame with baby’s name engraved on the top. I felt that the beautifully designed frame would hold many photos of the baby’s progress through life, and would forever give pleasure to the family as a whole.
