The development of the mouse has been a slow process, however there have been some changes over the years. And then they developed the optical mouse, which had no roller ball beneath it.
Well, things are only getting better with the Logitech Wireless Trackball M570. This new mouse that has been created doesn’t even look like a mouse, at least in the traditional sense.
The first thing that is worth bringing up about this mouse is that it is wireless. A great thing about this wireless system is that the receiver for this mouse is a tiny little unit not much larger than a USB port on your desktop computer, and you merely plug it into any USB port and forget about it. This receiver is so tiny you can use it on your laptop and never even see that it is there. This mouse will have a range of 30 feet away from the mouse receiver. So you can be sitting in your favorite couch and still control your cursor without any trouble at all.
However, that is not the top feature. And that is the fact that this wireless mouse comes with a trackball built into the design of the mouse. This technology gives you the ability to use the mouse without any mouse pad or even a flat surface, in fact you can set this mouse on the arm of your sofa and use it from there. As you can control the cursor using a thumb controlled trackball, you can use this mouse anywhere.
The trackball is the only thing you will have to get used to as the rest of the mouse still runs just like a typical mouse. All the same, it has several other features like programmable one touch buttons that you can use for everyday tasks. An additional feature that has been added is the back and forward buttons making surfing the Internet even simpler. This wireless mouse is really an amazing invention that will make everything easier.
Likewise, the battery life itself is genuinely great. You will get up to 18 months of battery life using only 1 AA battery, which in my opinion it simply impressive. Needless to say, the life of the battery will vary between people as some people will be using their PC 8 to 12 hours a day. Of course, if you use your computer a lot, even getting a few months from one battery should still impress you.
Although this is a little more expensive than your typical optical mouse, about twice the amount, selling for roughly $45. The quality of this wireless mouse and the additional features makes it well worth the price.
