Pachmarhi Hotels-A Rejuvenating and Memorable Experience
Pachmarhi is also known by the name official name of Pachmarhi Cantonment and is located in the Madhya Pradesh state of India. Located in the valleys of the Satpura Ranges at an altitude of 1067 ft above sea level, Pachmarhi is one of the most visited destinations of India. It was in the year 1857 the region of Pachmarhi was discovered by Captain James Forsyth and later on the destination was converted into a sanatorium for British troops in India. The name of the destination as Pachmarhi has been derived from the Pandavas who resided in the caves during their Exile. The region of Pachmarhi is managed and administered by the Pachmarhi Cantonment Board that serves the Indian Army too. The individuals who live in this region are mostly those who serve the Indian Army and the Golf courses present here are only for the usage of these personnel.
Pachmarhi used to be the summer capital of the British Empire during the colonial days. The same can be felt from the ancient British cottages and buildings that are still standing in good condition over here. Some of the ancient British attractions present here include bungalows, Victorian churches and cemeteries that assist in maintaining the old town charm of Pachmarhi. The region of Pachmarhi is surrounded by dense forest cover that has been declared as a Natural Biosphere Reserve by the UNESCO.
Most of the hotels remain occupied here during the peak tourist seasons that is from the month of October to June because of the pleasant climate.
