Never ever use non-diesel grade oil. This is the worst thing you can possibly do to your generator. Only use diesel grade and only use the brands recommended by your supplier or manufacturer. Use sub grade oil and you will ruin your machine without doubt. Kiss it goodbye. Buying proper grade oil in bulk as in a case of oil instead of an individual unit will keep your cost down dramatically.
Follow the above advice and you really cannot go wrong with an used diesel generator.
