Hilux New Look For 2012

It’s horrible when you find the perfect car but later find out that it won’t be launched for another few months. When I found the new Toyota Hilux in Gateshead I decided it was the car for me, it had the new look and new hi-tech features.

Toyota has given the indestructible pick-up a re-style from the A-pillar forwards, including a new bonnet, radiator grille, headlamps and bumper, new wheel designs, new side bars and steps for the top-of-the-range Hilux Invincible.

The interior has also been given a new look, including new upper dashboard design and horizontal instrument cluster, which incorporates the new Toyota Touch multimedia unit with a full colour 6.1-inch touchscreen. The cabin has been improved with new uniform dark finishes and new chrome surround for the instrument binnacle.

The new Toyota Hilux is available in the current engines, the 142bhp 2.5 D-4D and 169bhp 3.0 D-4D units, but these now comply with the Euro 5 light commercial vehicle emissions standards due to the adoption of a diesel particulate filter (DPF).

With the adjustments to the engines, its CO2 emissions for the 2.5 D-4D have been cut by more than 10% to 194g/km, becoming the best in its class, and combined fuel consumption has also been improved by more than 10% to 38.7mpg.

The new Toyota Hilux is available with a comprehensive choice of accessory packs to tailor the car to suit the needs of both business users and owners who need it for more everyday driving duties.
