Restoring Deleted file from Recycle Bin
Recycle Bins are backups that helps you to restore files even after you have deleted it. Many think that it is impossible to recover the files once you have deleted from the Recycle Bin. But that is not true. You can still recover the files just as it is.
When you save a file in your HDD (Hard Disk Drive), the OS (Operating System) keeps the memory locations of that file in an index. Those indexes are the way through which computer knows where which files are. When you view a file in the directory, the OS shows it to you through that index.
When you delete a file, the file goes to the Recycle Bin if you have allocated space for the Recycle Bin. When you empty the Recycle Bin, the OS removes the reference to that file from the index. When there is no reference to a file in the index, the OS acknowledge it as non-existent. OS shows the memory as empty. The file is invisible to the OS; you cannot see it or access it. It seems that the file is permanently deleted.
However, the reference to the file is gone, not the file itself. So the file is still there on that memory location, only invisible. As the file is still there, it is possible to restore it. But, how to restore deleted files that the OS do not know of? There is software that is specialized in recovering data that are permanently deleted from the computer. They search the memory locations and bring you the files that are there. From the list of files that it has found you can recover your desired file.
Data Recovery by Wondershare is such software that is sufficient to recover your deleted files. It scans deep in the hard disk drive and brings back your files. It lets you preview the files prior to the recovery so that you can be sure of the file that you are recovering. Remember one thing; the deleted files can be recovered if they are still in that memory location. They can be overwritten by other files if you save new files in that drive. So, it is wise to recover the files as soon you can. Also, keep a backup of this software and do not install it into the same drive with the deleted files.
To stop unexpected deletion, change the following Recycle Bin options.
1. Go to the Recycle Bin Properties. When the window comes up there will be several option. One option will be for you to allocate space on each drive. This allocated space will be used for Recycle Bin for that specific drive. If you delete any files, it will go to the allocated space for the Recycle Bin.
2. Check the last option which says “Display Delete Confirmation Dialogue”. This option, when enabled, shows a confirmation dialogue which asks you if you really want to delete the selected files.
3. When deleting file, use only the “Delete” key, do not use the “Shift + Delete” keys. When the second option is done, the files get deleted without going to recycle Bin.
You still may lose your files but for those casesData Recovery by Wondershare is there for you.
