Challenges for NFC Software

Though NFC software and technology has made a big impact on the wireless market with companies like nfcwireless.com.au manufacturing and distributing NFC cards and readers, there is still a long way to go. The reason is that there are more than 1 billion smart cards and 4 billion mobile phones in use all over the world. But NFC software hasn’t completely tapped in the potential. There are several barriers in achieving this goal, but the mobile industry is certainly working hard.

Statistics by Juniper Research show that by 2014, one in six mobiles will have NFC software in them. But this projection might be off the mark, since it was earlier predicted that NFC would be limited to just the smart phones. Now as NFC is breaking all barriers, the recent studies by Juniper Research may turn out to be not much foresighted.

For NFC goals to become a success, it is very important for the major mobile players to work together. This includes device manufacturers, mobile operators, service providers, and other third parties. The process has already started with Slovenia, Mobitel, Mastercard Europe, and Banka Koper.

Without the collaboration of major companies in mobile and wireless arena, NFC software integration will not be possible. Major players in the NFC ground are banks and credit card companies. This is because they create secure settings for NFC to work properly.

Still many hurdles to overcome to achieve success, but future is certainly bright for NFC.
