Aqua Globes Review

Have you been searching around the web constantly trying to find reliable information about the brand new plant water product called Aqua Globes? If so, then you have to look no further. I know it’s hard to find information you can trust so I want to provide you with the good, bad and the ugly about this product. Although, I do believe there is a little bit more good than the other two ;)

Lets start by answering the question: What are Aqua Globes?

They are hand blown glass cylinders that you fill with water and then forget about, they take care of the plant watering all on their own. How?

Well, the spheres go down into a point which is then pushed into the bottom of the soil. As the soil dries out it creates more space for the new water to drain into the soil. If you live in a very dry environment in which water uptake and/or evaporation occurs very rapidly the you may have to replace the water more often.

BUT, it still is much easier than pouring a watering can or a cup of water over your plants each and everyday, sometimes over watering and other times over watering. In theory, the globes should be able to provide you with the perfect amount of water as it is based directly upon the soil as opposed to your own observations.

Glass? Isn’t that pretty fragile?

My thoughts exactly… before I ordered them that is. However, the glass is very sturdy and is almost more reminiscent of a ceramic plate or bowl, than something very brittle and hand blown.

They also come in a variety of two different sizes, both large and small. Which is nice especially when you have much smaller plants that require a lot less watering than most large household plants. Also, the size difference could allow you to experiment and see which size for which plant provides the most efficient watering mechanism.

So, in short they are sturdy and come in two different sizes; you definitely wont have to worry about breaking them when you pull them out to refresh the water every so often.

What about the colors?

If you’ve seen the designs on each sphere you might be a little worried that the bright colors and swirls will detract from the already poignant beauty of your household plants. Personally, I think they add a little spice and make the soil area more pleasing to look at. However, if you disagree it’s easy to move the aqua globes so that it is out of plain sight.
