The engine has been coupled with four speed manual transmission, while the five speed manual transmission is available in the AC variant. As M800 is a small car, the pick-up and acceleration of the car is average and humble. The car goes from 0 to 100 km per hour in 21 seconds and has a peak speed of 144 km per hour.
Look wise, Maruti 800 appears to be simple and decent. The front has a distinct shape with a grille and broad headlamps, while the front bumper is smooth cascading in shape. The rear end of the car is leveled and the wide rear windscreen with decently shaped tail lights makes the exterior of the car complete and honest.
The interiors of the car are not high class, but the basic comfort features are present in this small car.
