The car has been spotted umpteen times undergoing test runs with aplenty camouflage till boot. The news of new Mahindra Verito launch in India has gone viral on internet. The sedan will witness an array of changes which will be given to the sedan in order to make it more appealing to lure customers to the Mahindra showrooms. Verito which was earlier known as Logan now comes with Mahindra badge, the sedan has been able to garner decent sales ever since it changed name from Logan to Verito.
Mahindra and Renault formed a pact to sell Dacia Logan in the Indian car market, however the plan did not implement well and both the companies parted ways. Renault sold its stake to Mahindra and Logan is now sold as Verito under Mahindra’s badge. The sedan was not only given a new name to get a fresh start but also underwent certain changes. The sedan is a popular vehicle in the taxi segment, thanks to the affordable Mahindra Verito price and availability of the sedan in both petrol as well as diesel variants. New Mahindra Verito is also a frugal sedan that delivers good fuel economy in city conditions and on highways also. All these factors led to upsurge in Mahindra Verito sales. Verito is the only sedan available under Mahindra’s clan, otherwise the car maker has two of the most popular SUVs in India, Mahindra Scorpio and Mahindra XUV 500. Other than these two SUVs, Mahindr also has Mahindra Xylo MPV which is doing extremely well in the MPV segment. The sedan which was launched last year with a new name and few minor changes has received another set of changes which include a new front grille and bumper.
Apart from these changes the sedan has also got a new set of headlamps. On the other hand the rear will also undergo a number of changes; the tail lights will also be redesigned. All these changes will make the sedan a much better sedan than its forerunner and hence could also help in further up-surging the sales of the vehicle. This time the company has also paid some attention to the looks of the sedan and as a result the sedan will apparently be more stylish than its predecessor. This was a sum up of the changes made to the sedan on the exterior front, talking about the interiors of the new sedan; the car will be equipped with new upholstery along with a fresh center console. Few other changes have also been made to the interiors of the sedan to make it more comfortable and rich in features.
One thing that will remain unchanged is the engine options which will continue to serve the sedan in both petrol and diesel trim levels. The 1.4 litre petrol mill that generates a high power of 75 Bhp and a peak torque figure of 110 Nm will be affixed in the Verito petrol version. On the other hand the diesel version of the Verito sedan will be armed with a 1. 5 litre K9K turbo diesel engine pooping out a maximum power of 65 Bhp along with a high torque of 160 Nm. High end variant of Mahindra Verito sedan will also be packed with ABS and dual airbags. 2012 Mahindra Verito will be on sale in total of five trim levels which include G2 and G4 in the petrol version. On the other hand diesel version will be available in three versions, D2, D4 and D6.
