How to Make Real Christmas tree Last Longer

During Christmas everybody needs a tree that can last for maximum possible time, at least up to New Year. For keeping spirit of Christmas intact there are many factors that you need to consider for keeping your tree strong and lasting for more time.

Firstly you have to search for a fresh tree because a fresher tree can last for a longer time than compared to already cut one. To have such tree you have to visit your local farms of Christmas tree. Generally a fresh tree can live for the optimum time for about four to six weeks, yet that too needs the tender and loving care.

Next thing to consider for fresh tree is how well staffs taking care of that Christmas tree when at the farm. You must look for following signs in a tree and would know that if it is looked after carefully:

1. The trees that are displayed into water.

2. The trees that are protected from sun light.

3. Is there any form of barrier in between the Christmas trees and space where wind could easily damage those trees

4. The most important thing is that only few needles should fall when you touch the branches.

After finding the tree of your choice, ask them to cut the chunk from bottom of that tree as this will allow the tree to get water from its trunk. After cutting immediately try to put it in water. After 3-4 hours sap starts forming itself on the bottom and it may prevent water from being taken and that Christmas tree might not last for long.

Now place your tree in a stand of good quality. Also you must be sure to have enough water in that stand daily. On an average, a Christmas tree can take in up to 3.79 lt. of water in a day. In case your tree runs out of water in one day, the very best option is to drill a few small holes in the base to allow the water to be taken in.

At last, you must be sure that you have placed your Christmas tree away from the heat. Heat makes it dry which may cause it to lose its needles. Even in cold places same happens with the needles. After following this advice, you can have healthy and strong Christmas tree throughout festive season and everyone at home would love that.
