Waiting for a new car
Kia Motors will be unveiling the next generation Kia Rio at the Geneva Motor show alongside the all new Kia Picanto. With a great demand for its Nissan Juke, Qashqai and Qashqai+2 models, Nissan Bristol have thought of a truly original approach to ensure customers are happy and mobile as they wait for their new car to arrive, by offering a free loan car for buyers who face a delivery lead time of more than three months to tide them over until their new Nissan arrives.
When a customer orders the new Nissan Juke they will be offered the Nissan Micra, while those ordering the Nissan Qashqai and Nissan Qashqai+2 will be offered the use of a Nissan Note, and will be completely free of charge.
Paul Willcox, managing director of Nissan Motor (GB), said: “Juke and Qashqai models are in huge demand at the moment and it became apparent that the long lead times were inconveniencing some customers. To demonstrate our customer commitment we have developed this new,
industry-leading scheme. Extended waiting times are a reflection of the popularity of Nissan’s crossover products across Europe, but some customers need to replace their current car and simply cannot wait three months. This scheme helps to smooth out this transitional waiting period by enabling customers to trade in or return their current car immediately and take a free loan car until their new Nissan arrives.”
Customers that have already placed their order for a new Nissan will be eligible to request a loan car through their supplying dealer, as long as the remaining waiting time exceeds three months and the first customers will receive their loan cars on 24 February 2011. Both the Nissan Juke and Nissan Qashqai were designed, engineered and built in Britain; Nissan’s factory is working at its full capacity to keep up with demand from across Europe.
have revealed the first photos of the Kia Rio, the latest car to be boasting a bold and distinctive personality which brings the newcomer in line with the rest of Kia’s striking design-led passenger car range.
UK customers can expect to see the 5-door version of the Kia Rio go on sale from September 2011 and the 3-door will be available from early 2012. The details of the range and prices will be announced closer to the sale date.
The new Kia Rio has its own Kia’s signature grille, which integrates with the headlamps to give a new twist to the Kia family look. The new model features a wheelbase which is extended by 70 mm to give greater passenger space and comfort, together with increased cargo capacity of 292 litres for the hatchback.
The new Kia Rio will deliver a high level of quality previously associated with larger models, together with a wide selection of trim options. The newcomer will offer an extensive range of fuel-efficient and low-CO2 petrol and diesel engines.
Director of Overseas Marketing, Kia Motors Corporation, Soon-Nam Lee, commented: “This new model is a big step forward. The Rio has always been successful, and with this new incarnation we have a car that people will want to buy for its looks.” Since its launch in 2005,
global sales of the current-generation Rio have totalled more than 860,000 units. It was the company’s third best-selling vehicle in overseas markets during 2010 with sales of more than 219,000 units. UK sales from launch total 52,626 units.”
