Review of Union Glashutte New Sera watch
The newest watch by Union Glashutte, a famed watch maker, is a new Sera watch. It is meant to be a men’s watch, but it ends up with looking like a teenager’s watch due to the relatively small case. It seems that Union Glashutte now starts to make anti-large watches that look more classic –at least in size. Just 36mm at diameter, it is much smaller than most today’s men’s watch and is in similar size with current women’s watches.
According to Union Glashutte, this new Sera watch is created form business men and that is why it has slim and demure case. But it is interesting that the watch dial showcase large hands and hour markers. Maybe Union Glashutte also wants it with some masculine feel to save it from being feminine-a small size is really a bit dangerous for a men’s watch when a woman watch can be sized at 42mm nowadays. Anyway, the result is not bad. At least, you know this new Union Glasshutte watch is for men at first sight.
Covered by a high grade sapphire crystal, the dial is very easy to read. And the dial is available in several versions: silver, black, and silver with gold toned hands and hour markers. The case itself is crafted from stainless steel. Beating inside is a Swiss ETA 2892 automatic movement with a date complication. The date is nestled at 6 o’clock position.
Completed the watch is either a leather strap or a steel bracelet. Personally, I love the strap version. And it will hit market very soon with a price at about 1,350 euros. If you are tired of aggressive large watches, it will be a good choice for you.
