Traits I Have Inherited From My Dad

They say that in some way, people see our parents in us. There are traits in which you have inherited that remind them of either your mother or father. These sometimes aren’t noticeable while you are younger; instead at most times they see your parents in you when you get older.
Some traits are very evident and you can clearly see a person in one of their children. A few of the traits inherited from my parents, particularly from my dad are (1) being friendly and does not choose the people he should be with, (2) being a sensitive person and has a soft spot in his heart for everyone, and (3) being a family-oriented person and treats us with care and respect.
My dad is a very friendly person. There isn’t one person he won’t get acquainted with. He wouldn’t treat other people rudely, and he will do the best that he can to help the people around him, whether it is a family, a co-worker, a friend, etc. There is a special place in his heart for the people who surround him. He will help them to the most of his abilities. And this is one of the traits I have inherited from my dad. I want to help others when in need and not ignore those who might need help in the hardest situations. I strongly believe that being nice and friendly to other people will all have a good consequence in return.
Another trait I have come to be is being a very sensitive person. Probably, this trait goes along with that of being friendly. My dad is a naturally friendly person, and so, it would be hard for my dad to ignore the fact that people need his help, which is the reason why my dad has always been in the medical field. He used to be a paramedic and a respiratory therapist as well. I am following my dad’s footsteps for being in the medical field as well.

I am now studying to be a respiratory therapist for me to extend my help to many more people. It feels so good and so right to help those who badly need your help. It does not matter if you have to spend most of your time treating patients, helping them get better in times that they need to. In return, when you see a patient getting better, you feel so much joy and accomplishment, happy that you are the one who helped this person towards betterment.
After being in the medical field, my dad is currently a police officer. You can really see that he is dedicated to help other people whenever they need him. Maybe this is why I have married a police officer as well. I see the traits in him that my dad has, which made me comfortable towards him.
My dad is a very family-oriented person. Although he helps people around him, he still puts his family before himself. Although his work nature is helping people in need, he never fails to put his family first. He spends some quality time with us as much as he can, being there for us whenever we need him most. He makes sure that we have good values and everything he tells us are being applied. I, as well, have inherited this trait. I want my family to have a close relationship, as well as an open communication to avoid conflicts in the family.
My dad is a role model, not only to me and the family, but to other people as well. Through his actions, people see how dedicated he to help those in need. It does not matter what social status the person belongs to, to my dad, they are all equal, which I am happy I have inherited from him. Not all have a soft spot in their heart for other people. I’m sure people are different and inherit different traits. But, I am very happy when people see my dad through my actions as well. It just brings so much pride and happiness to me to be compared to such a great person like my dad.
