The Secret Of Knowing When Is The Best Time To Conceive A Boy

Couples who are attempting to try and conceive a boy may not realize that it is much easier than they think. Plenty of studies have been carried out and certainly these clearly show that the chances for a couple to have a boy rather than a girl are very high indeed. But one way of increasing these chances further for them is to learn about when is the best time to conceive a boy.

There are a number of different methods that such couples can try that will further increase their chances of them conceiving a boy rather than a girl. In this article we take a look at two such methods which couples may want to consider trying when they are trying to have a baby and want it to be a boy. Both methods clearly define the times although they are different when it is best to conceive a boy.

Method 1 – Shettles Method

This particular technique aims to ensure that the sperm which contains Y chromosomes is able to reach the egg before the sperm carrying the X chromosomes is able to. The sperm carrying the Y chromosomes tend to move much more quickly than the sperm that contains the X chromosomes so this is something which needs to be taken into careful consideration when a couple are trying to have a baby which is a boy.

The book “How to Choose the Sex of Your Baby: The Method Best Supported by Scientific Evidence” written by Dr Shettles recommends that couples have intercourse during the 24 hours when a woman has begun to ovulate and that no intercourse should take place 12 hours after her ovulation period has finished.

As well as giving such specific time periods for when couples should have intercourse in if they want conceive a boy is to ensure that the man penetrates the woman as deeply as possible. This way the more aggressive sperm containing the Y chromosomes is closer to the cervix and means that they get a head start in the fertilization of the egg.

Method 2 – The Whelan Method

Dr Whelan devised this technique as a rebuttal to the technique purported by Dr Shettles. In hers, Dr Whelan feels that if a couple would like to increase their chances of having a boy rather than a girl intercourse should take place as early as possible during a woman’s monthly cycle. Certainly research shows that around 68% of the time all couples using this technique did in fact conceive a baby boy.

Certainly when it comes to finding out when is the best time to conceive a boy many people have different opinions on this. However there are other methods that couples have used and which have provided them with the desired results. Some couples have found making changes to their diet and eating more red meat and salty snacks can help. Whilst for other couples they tried the method where the man drank coffee before intercourse and this they believed help them to conceive a boy rather than a girl.
