Manual Article Submission – An Idiot Guide to Publishing Articles to Directories
This article is for those people who want to distribute their articles to directories but simply don’t know where or how to start. This guide will make the process a bit easier for you.
- Start by identifying the directories that you would like to use. I recommend that you stick with those that are very popular in the online arena, those that have high page ranking, and those that are constantly visited by both online users and ezine publishers. Right now, there are more than one hundred directories in the online arena but there are only few that can really give your articles the exposure they need.
- Register. Next step is to get your account on these sites so you can start submitting your articles. These sites will ask for few personal information like your name, address, phone number, and type of business. While doing this, make sure that you read and fully understand their terms of service. Know what their requirements or do’s and don’ts. Follow these religiously so you can save your articles from getting rejected.
- What you need for manual submission. Aside from your articles, these sites will also require article summary, resource box, and keyword list. An article summary is being used to give your target audience an idea about the gist of your content. Get it to work to your advantage by making it enticing and catchy. Offer powerful information but make sure that you leave out the best data to keep your readers wanting for more. A keyword list is the list of keywords that you’re using on your articles. When these keywords are searched by online users, publishers will make your articles visible on the search page results. Lastly, the resource box is where you can pitch in your offer and where you can insert your site’s URL to make it easier for interested parties to give you a visit.
- Submit your articles. Submitting your articles to these directories is very easy. Once you get the form, all you need to do is to fill up the spaces for titles, article body, article summary, keyword list, and resource box. Before you hit that submit button, I would recommend that you preview your articles first. This is to ensure that the formatting is correct and that your articles will appear readable once they’re published. Also, ensure that the links on your resource box are working properly.
- Check your articles. After doing all of these, you can wait for 5 7 business days (this is usually the review and posting time of popular article directories) to see your articles published. Sometimes, publishers will reject your articles for particular reasons. They’ll send email to notify you about the things that you need to change. When this happens, you will need to revise and resend your articles for review.
