One thing every internet marketer should make sure they have is great customer service. Just because your business is online doesn’t mean you don’t have to keep the customer service top notch. As a matter of fact, because your business is an internet business should drive you to make your customer service even better. Most people get started with online marketing because it seems so simple to run an almost automated system, so you should make it a point to offer spectacular customer service so you can stand out from the crows. It is what will turn your potential buyer into a repeat customer. Here are some ideas that you can use to improve your customer service.

Whenever anyone buys from your site, don’t forget to thank them by e-mail. Even if your business is set up to be pretty much automated, an automated “thank you for your purchase” e-mail sent to each person who buys something from you will go a long way. Doing this is very easy, as almost every e-mail service gives you the ability to send out an automatic response to orders, where you can tell everyone, “thanks for being a customer,” or something similar. This is an easy function to use, so don’t neglect it! Just sending out this single-sentence e-mail could make your customers more inclined to return and buy from you again!

It’s a good idea to give your customers a way to get in touch with you offline, whether it’s by telephone or mail. It isn’t hard to get a mailing address for this purpose, such as a rented post office box. Skype is very affordable. These simple options establish you as an actual person who people can talk to, especially if you make yourself available on Skype and answer your calls. You don’t have to be available 24/7; have set hours that you answer the phone, and make these public on your website. Then actually be at your computer during those hours. Talking to people like this might make more sales for you, as you become an actual person rather than another anonymous website.

It wouldn’t hurt to send your customers something free of cost. This doesn’t mean to send out a newsletter every once in a while, it’s more than that. If you write articles for a living, send your clients a free article on the last topic they hired you to write about. If you work with affiliates, do some research and see if you can find any “freebies” through the affiliate, and offer these “freebies” to your customer list. Your contacts will love that you are giving them free stuff and will definitely think of you for their future needs.

Internet marketers can always work to make their customer service practices better. Everyone wants to receive good customer service, whether they walk into a store or visit a website. Anyone who wants to make repeat sales to customers and make more money should be concerned about this. People like to be treated with respect.
