What is Form 4868
It is an application for extending the time to file an exempt organization return form. it is used by an exempt organization to request an automatic 3-month extension of time or 6 months for a corporation required to file form td-f 90-22.1 in order to literally file its return and also to apply for an additional 3-month extension which is not automatic, if the original 3-month extension was not enough. also, this form is to request a time-extension in order to file those returns must be used by the trustee of a trust required to file form 1041-a or Form 4868. we have to file form 8868 by the due date of the return for the form we are requesting an extension. when requesting an additional time-extension to file, file this form early so that if our request is denied we can still file our return on the right time. and we just have to stop worrying about Form 4868 because it is only related to tax return issues. for a return for a tax year an organization will only be allowed a total of 6 months extension. unlike the above mentioned forms is the form 7004 pertaining to the business income tax related returns.
