Corum Golden Tube and Chinese Hat

Swiss watch maker Corum recently re-issued three vintage models that had certain influence in their watch-making history in one breath. Among them, the Corum Golden Tube and Chinese Hat are obviously high-end woman’s jewelry watches, while the Round Golden Bridge Watch is a man’s watch sized at 41mm. In the mid term of 20th century, some woman’s watches were done in a can-shaped or looked like the Chinese Hat. Corum used to made such watches as well. And these unconventional woman watches were popular at that time thanks to Corum   ’s superb mastery in watch-making and gem-setting. It is their success that makes Corum re-issue new interpretations.     Both the new Corum Golden Tube and Chinese Hat will be made as limited edition watch. The cases are crafted from 18K rose gold or white gold and set with precious diamonds. The watch faces are either made from mother of pear or paved with diamonds. The mother of pearl dials, well, are further decorated by diamond markers. According to Corum watches, each version of the watches will be limited to just 30 pieces. The Golden Tue watch is 30mm at its widest point, while the Chinese Hat is 34mm wide. Powered by accurate Swiss quartz movements and decorated by large amount of stones, both watches look luxurious and graceful with a decent retro touch. They are matched with thin alligator straps.   Personally, I love the Golden Tube better than the Chinese Hat. I love its lovely tin can shape and the large side-mounted fuel tanks on a big rig. I just wonder how it looks on the wrist. Probably it needs a beautiful wrist to go with.
