Filling your blog with monetized content
There are a number of ways you can fill your affiliate blog with content. Some are easier, some are more difficult, some are very effective, some are less. In this section, I’ll delve into your different options.
You have three major goals with your blogs’ content.
a) Inform
b) Sell
c) Get your readers to come back
You have few ways you can go about filling your blog with content – manual posting, using plr articles and free article sources, rss posting, guest posts or my personal favorite, affiliate stores. I decided to dedicate a step solely to affiliate stores though, because of the tremendous potential they offer:
a) They’re one of the simplest, most powerful methods to monetize a blog.
b) They bridge the gap between this section and next – content and monetization.
c) Every affiliate should in some way be using them to monetize their blogs or websites.
The following are your choices for content.
OPTION A: MANUAL POSTING
Posts can be written by either you or someone you outsource the work to (see the outsourcing section at the end of this book for more on this). The key here is to target your market and audience’s interest and make your posts informative.
No matter what market you’re targeting, information is why your readers are on your blog. The frequency of your posts is entirely up to you, but as a general rule, 2 per week is a minimum.
Your manual posts can consist of product reviews (paid or not), information about your market or anything else your readers will find interesting to keep them coming back.
Manual posting is time consuming if you do it yourself, but often times leads to some of the best results.
OPTION B: PLR ARTICLES
A method that gained quite a bit of popularity a few years ago and has become a standard since, is the use of private label rights (PLR) content. PLR content is usually delivered through a service like the ContentClub. (A PLR service offered by our company.)
