A Quick History of Fax
Fax was in existence since 19th century. The brief form of fax is facsimile. Though the first forms of fax were in existence since 19th century, modern fax machines became popular after 1970s. In this system the documents are sent via a telephone line. The digital fax machines initial grew to become well-liked in Japan. It succeeded around tele-printers and other technologies which had been in recognition then. But at that time faxing was not affordable. In 1865 between Paris and Lyon he launched the first industrial fax machine. This transpired 11 years before the invention of telephone services.
Several other experiments followed this. In 1881 Shelford Bidwell came up with the invention of photo telegraph, the first telegraph machine which is capable of scanning any two dimensional unique data. This didn’t require manual plotting or drawing. Arthur Korn a German physicist invented Bildtelegraph in 1900. It was in 1929 that Rudolf Hell invented mechanical image scanning and transmission.
Radio fax was created by Richard H. Ranger in 1924. In 1935 several huge brands began the Faxsimile telegraphy service. The pictures of Mickey Mouse have been in the first coast to coast message. The computer fax board or Gammafax was first released by Dr. Hank Magnuski, founder of Gammalink in 1985.
The major components of a facsimile machine consist of an image sensor which makes use of light to scan the information, a rotating plate wherever the materials that has to be scanned is placed and a faxmodem that has the capability of converting the scanned content into digital format and vice versa.
