From TV series to Movies
All the film producers and the majors always search for new ideas or even old ideas to make new movies. They probably hire people for that job.
So it is not surprising to see that a lot of the series we watched when we were kids are adapted by those majors to become huge blockbusters and fill cinemas.
You will rarely see successful series become independent films. They will in most cases be adapted by the big movies companies. This need to adapt television series to movies is not something new and it has been going on for some years. It is often a guarantee for the film producers that the movie will go well because people already know the characters, the story, and probably watched the series before.
A few examples come in mind when you think about television series that have been adapted to the big screen and have become successful or terrible movies.
Charlie’s Angel is a good example of a fairly good adaptation of a well known and very successful television series. With its good cast and a good story, the adaptation went well. It went so well that the producers did not stop after one movie but did more.
But the adaptation of television series is not as simple as it seems. Because people know the story and the characters already, they are going to expect particular actions, words and stories, and will surely be disappointed if the movie does not go the way they thought it would go. It also add some extra pressure on the actors that will have to try to stick to the character as much as possible.
Too many good series have been adapted and have become bad movies, but it is best to make your mind yourself about a movie rather than believe what others say about a film.
It seems that movies producers have not stopped and keep adapting some television series to the big screen. The latest example I can think of is The A team. We probably all watched this series at least once in our life and we all know the characters, so we will quickly see if this movie is as good as the television series or not.
All the movies lover should check the web sites offering to watch free movies online and legally. They usually use the streaming technology, which allows the user to watch streaming movies without having to download the film. Nothing is better than free movies with good image and sound quality.
