Sandstone
Sandstone is a sedimentary rock that is formed through the sedimentation of grains gathered from rivers, lakes or ocean. Natural sandstone is usually a very hard and tough substance that is mainly composed of sand particles. Very often these particles are held together with substances like silica, quartz, iron oxide and calcium carbonate. Sandstone is usually a soft and uniform textured substance which is very easy to use and work with. This is the main reason for why it is being used in the construction industry since years. The sandstone pavers available in the market are usually very durable and highly resistive products that are often used in applications like pool surrounds, pool coping, patios, balconies, external flooring and wall claddings. The honed sandstone and polished sandstone varieties which are usually available in different thickness ranges are the most popular natural stone products used for landscaping purposes. Sandstone can also be available in different colors and shades like red sandstone, pink sandstone, yellow sandstone, black sandstone, brown sandstone, grey sandstone, green sandstone etc for use in decorative construction purposes.
Slatestone
Slatestone has traditionally been used for centuries for purposes of roofing and flooring because of its elegant appearance and umatched performance. It is a fine grained, homogenous metamorphic rock derived from the sedimentary rock called shale which when subjected to heat and pressure forms slate. Slatestone is mainly composed of minerals like mica, chlorite and quartz and is usually available in fine to medium grain textures for use in different construction applications. It is known for its shine property and is normally available in three forms in the market called natural slatestone, polished slatestone and honed slatestone. Slatestone offers excellent resistance against extreme weather conditions and therefore is very durable rock perfect for applicatons like pavings, floorings, roofings and wall claddings. Available as colored stones like green slatestone, golden slatestone, copper slatestone, grey slatestone, silver slatestone etc this is also used as a decorative stone in constructions.
