My Mother Loves Buying Gifts For My Baby Online
I’m an only child, so my first child was also my parents’ first grandchild. They were here for his birth, but they actually live several hours away. Therefore, my mom finds it easy to purchase gifts for my son online. She’s a very savvy grandma!
The first gift she bought for him before he was born was a stuffed monkey. Our nursery theme was jungle animals, so she wanted to start a collection of stuffed toys that would match his bedding. Later she sent an elephant and a giraffe, too. She also found a mobile online that matched his bedding perfectly! I had been unable to find one, so she sent that to us, as well. The shopping continued, of course, because of her excitement over being a first-time grandma. She found some wall decorations and picture frames that all fit within the jungle theme. It was a great idea to help us finish out our nursery with these special details.
And then there were clothes! She decided to stick with the jungle theme there, too. She hunted online to find one piece pajamas with monkeys, onesies with giraffes, and even a hat that looked like an elephant. One of the sweetest things she found online was a lion suit. Because winter was quickly approaching, this came in handy for us soon. The little lion suit zipped on over whatever my son was wearing, and it covered him in warmth from head to toe. He was so cute in it!
One useful item she found was a gadget shaped like a monkey designed to hold his pacifier. And there were many jungle themed toys she was able to find online, as well. We had a rattle that was a monkey with bananas, a teether in the shape of a giraffe, jungle bath toys that squirt, and a cloth book with lots of different jungle animals pictured inside. I think my son’s favorite gift initially was the crib soother she found online. It had jungle animals, played music, and had soft lights he liked to watch as he fell asleep.
As he has gotten older, not all of her gifts have been jungle themed, but she still finds good deals online. Another favorite of his is a construction truck he can ride, which also opens up and has construction toys inside. It even came with a construction safety hat! He loves to play with this because of the many buttons, noises, and lights. I had never even seen one in a store, but she was able to find it. And because he’s a little older, he now likes to watch the videos she purchased. I think grandmas just know the right things to buy their grandkids because of the special love they share!
