Oxegen Festival to Heat Up July

This year’s Oxegen Festival is beginning to look like one of the biggest and best lineups in the history of the event, which will now. Ireland’s largest music festival has recently added more exciting acts to the roster including the legendary American guitar hero, Slash, and his band. Beyonce is another artist to have been announced recently, and will perform on Sunday, July 10, the same day Slash will appear.

Others featured in Sunday’s impressive lineup include headliners Coldplay, along with The National, Pendulum, Manic Street Preachers and well over a dozen other acts. Friday and Saturday look brilliant as well, with the phenomenal American hip-hop group, The Black Eyed Peas, headlining on Friday; and Dave Grohl’s Foo Fighters topping the bill on Saturday. Other acts on Friday include The Strip, The Strokes, My Chemical Romance and more than a score of others. Saturday will feature, along with Foo Fighters; Arctic Monkeys, Paolo Nutini, Brandon Flowers and many more acts. 2011 should prove to be a great year for Oxegen-goers.

Camping facilities are available at the Racecourse and tickets are available through the festival’s website. The Luxury Campsite features hot showers, clean toilets and security for those willing to pay. For the rest of the attendees a 3 day camping pass runs 224.50 euro and a price of 244.50 euro for a 4 day pass.

The Oxegen Festival runs from July 7-10 and will be held again this year at Punchestown Racecourse near Naas, County Kildare. Aside from the legions of Dublin-area fans, thousands of festival-goers from all over Ireland will be making the trip to the racecourse this July. Many will make use of the Belfast park and fly deals or similar services in other cities. Dublin park and fly packages are available for Dubliners going on holiday this summer, as well.
