Hertford, a Town of Hertfordshire, England

Hertford is known to be a civil parish in the country of England associated with the district of East Hertfordshire. The term civil parish designates that that place or area is under the lowermost government administration, which is even below districts and hence countries. Hertfordshire has long been associated with the plots and theories of ‘The Holy Grail’ and Knights Templar i.e. the comrade soldiers of Jesus Christ. Hertford name came due to the link of two words namely forts visited by harts and stags. It is one of the most significant towns in the country of England.

The other name given to a civil parish like Hertfordshire is a country town. Nowadays this country town is governed by the Hertfordshire County Council which actually is a part of the East Hertfordshire’s district council.  Hertford is the present at a place where four valleys converge together, namely Rib, Mimram, Beane, which join the river Lea, and henceforth it joins Thames River by flowing southwards. This town has long been a popular name in the pages of history. Dating back to 673 A.D the Synod of all Bishops here in England was conducted in Hertford.

Hertford is considered to be thriving on Breweries in terms of employment. In contrast to the other nearby towns and cities in England, Hertford does not have any modern shopping malls. A well-known Tesco store is there which is well known due to its presence in Christ’s Hospital Bluecoat Girl’s School. By 1985 this school was closed down. Chain shops are almost insignificant in numerical terms found in Hertford. Boutiques, salons, and various standalone shops are there to meet the commercial demands of the people in this town.

Various world renowned landmarks can be found in Hertford ranging from the Hertford Castle to the Hertford Museum. Famous churches present here include the Saint Andrews and All Saint’s Church. Even the Shire Hall is quite renowned for its historical and social values. The museum had been built in the 17th century and thus is one of the biggest attractions of this place.

Modes of transportation available in this town includes the Railways, Roads, and even Buses and coaches. Various well known graduate schools including the Sele School, Abel Smith School and the Richard Hale School draw our attention to the importance of education in this town. This place is truly a remarkable place to visit in terms of its historical value.
