Here are some things you can check:
Address
Checking the address- Get the person’s present and previous address. Also make it a point to find out how long they have lived in each of the addresses they have given. A lot of address changes can occur in a short period of time. This can sometimes indicate instability and warrant deeper investigation.
Criminal History
Checking the Criminal History – It is extremely important to get the person’s Social Security Number. If you have this you can easily have access to this person’s criminal history check.
Sexual Offender
Sometimes, the criminal history check does not say it all. It is essential to check on their records of sexual offenses, if any. This type of crime often stays in the books and can easily be tracked by Investigation Bureaus no matter where they are.
Driving History
Although you may think driving history is not relevant, it actually is. Speeding tickets and reckless driving tickets can actually be indicators that the person is not responsible enough to baby sit and take care of the children they are left behind with. So before hiring a babysitter or a nanny, check their driving history.
Doing background checks will give you a greater peace of mind about the safety of your children (and perhaps your properties too) while you are away.
