More Women Wear Belts Than Men an Assumption Founded on Solid Evidence
Speaking of belts, you probably will think of the kind of male clothing worn around men’s waist to support the suit pants. They mostly serve for practical use. But as a girl myself, I can safely say that nowadays the belts in women’s wardrobe are no fewer than the ones of men. I also think that nowadays more women wear belts than men do, for various reasons.
The most important reason for women to wear belts is, besides supporting trousers, for decorative purpose. By that I didn’t mean men in the modern society don’t value style or fashion. But you have to admit that more women care about that than men do. And while it comes to the decorative function of belts, it can go as long as you’re wiling to listen. With their differing styles, design, width, colors and various accessories on them, they can go with almost every piece of clothes. However, men’s belts are mostly simply-designed and are usually not stylisih. Though in modern times, the practice of sagging has been quite popular among boys. That makes their belts conspicuous, still not so many men are bold enough to show their underwear.
Another reason is that many of women’s clothes include a belt as a necessary part of the whole picture. Some of the one-piece dresses are sloppy-looking and loose with a belt. There are few one-piece item in men’s wardrobe which would make belts indispensable.
And the most ready reason would just be that quite a few men are lazy enough to dispense with their belts make do without one. While most women when not for decorative, will wear a belt despite the trouble.
Of course it’s only my guess that more women wear belts then men do. But you see I have my reasons to believe so. Whether for the decorative function of women’s belts, or the number of lazy boys, I think more women wear belts than men.
