Badoo presents 2012 milestones and ambitions

Badoo’s founder Andrey Andreev  released some impressive numbers about the success and popularity of Badoo recently during his tour of some of the biggest tech events in Europe, which included Le Web and DLD. 2011 was an exciting year for Badoo the well known online dating site

With some impressive milestones obtained in 2011 it’s time to sum up the achievements. Worldwide Badoo has now more than 135 million users registered, in over more than 180 countries, this represents a considerable part (6.4% to be exact) of the 2.1 billion Internet users globally.

Monthly, more than 35 million users log in to use the Badoo website whilst Badoo users upload about 3 million photos every day; a figure which is closing in on the 4.5 million uploads a day on the photo site Flickr.  New users now have access to popular and slick mobile apps (both Android and iPhone), as well as access to Badoo on the Web and WAP (mobile web). Badoo is in fact one of the top grossing iPhone apps in the world.

Badoo has proven itself to be highly profitable, having already registered more than $150 million in gross platform sales, which means it can keep re-investing in both its people and product whilst delivering the best experience to  their customers worldwide. In short coming to the U.S.  Badoo has actually been growing at a rapid pace in the united states for quite a while now, adding more and more users every day who want to liven up their social life and meet new people. Now in 2012 the aim is to put Badoo firmly on the map in the U.S. “We have exciting plans to unveil which will involve our users, in many creative and exciting ways”.

Badoo will also keep on launching cool product updates in 2012– building upon the release of some pretty cool new stuff on their Android app, which includes “live wallpaper” and new widgets that allow the users play with Badoo from their homescreen. Badoo is pretty psyched about the U.S. opportunity and hope to become one of the US most popular imports – a bit like their hometown hero David Beckham!
