Near Field Communication is Making Daily News

A few days back, on April 11th, Sequent Software, an NFC (near field communication) software provider became an observer member at GlobalPlatform. As you might know, GlobalPlatform is a non-profit organization that develops standards for interoperable and secure application management including secure chip technology. Another famous wireless company, nfcwireless.com.au is budding and developing in the field of NFC.

Such worldwide popularity of near field communication has become possible only because of its wide capabilities. The NFC software creates a universal interface that allows existing devices to read NFC enabled stickers.

With the global acceptance of NFC, there will no longer be a need of Bluetooth to transfer data. Earlier there was Infra-red technology in mobile phones, which was replaced by Bluetooth. Similarly, phones will soon phase out Bluetooth by introducing NFC. With NFC software, there is no need to enter PIN because the two devices that have to be paired via NFC need to be in close proximity. This ensures that the data

transfer is safe and secure, and thus there is no need for a password. That’s one less hassle while phone pairing.

If you have a door lock that comes with a contactless short range reader and an actuator, near field communication will allow your phone to be used instead as a contact card. This has many advantages. For example, if you have to check into a hotel, you have to go to the reception, verify your identity and then get an access card. With the help of NFC, they can directly send an NFC code to your smart phone. So you don’t have to stop at the reception. Just enter the hotel and acquire your room!
