Spring Pasta Recipes

Pasta, long a favourite in Italy, has spread worldwide in the past fifty years or so and is a popular dish among chefs and cooks across the globe. With this versatility comes a wide range of different spring pasta recipes that are available in order to help those who cook with pasta to get the most out of their dishes.

As a dish, pasta can be eaten at any time of year, and whatever type of pasta that you want to use, or whatever sort of dish you wish to make, there are a significant number of spring pasta recipes available that will provide any cook with a variety of suggestions to help them to get the most out of their cooking.

Pasta is traditionally made out of durum wheat flour, and comes in dry or fresh varieties. Although many cooks will think that fresh pasta is always preferable to dried pasta (as it would be in many other areas of cooking), some specialist pasta chefs will specify either fresh or dried pasta depending on the type of dish being prepared; and therefore, careful consideration in acquiring ingredients is needed, to make sure that you have the right kind of pasta.

Spaghetti is one of the most famous types of pasta, as well as macaroni and vermicelli among the long types of pasta; whereas it can also be found in a number of smaller shapes and patterns, such as fusilli, penne, farfalle and canneroni. The names of the different types of pasta refer to different sizes, shapes and patterns, and there are dozens of different alternatives that are available. Pasta is also often available in different colours, such as green.

Famous pasta dishes include Spaghetti Bolognese, Lasagne, Penne Arrabiata and Macaroni Cheese, and even these simple recipes have dozens of different options that are available for the adventurous cook.

With so many types of pasta available, and so many other types of food that go well with pasta, it is one of the most versatile foods available for the contemporary cook.
