A User Diary Discovers Secrets of the George St. Pierre RushFit DVDs

There are basically three ways to attack reviewing any home fitness product. The way that is preferred and the one that gives you the most feeling of control as a reviewer is to use the product as intended for the length prescribed and simply state your conclusions.  This to me is bare minimum to put together a decent and reliable review.

In the case of my time with the George St. Pierre RushFit DVDs, I was able to negotiate my way through a highly challenging program which has a high degree of difficulty and gives us the experience of preparation for a big MMA match. I don’t have to tell you if you have seen the sport that this is a grueling process. I have no doubt after using RushFit and watch George St. Pierre Struggle right alongside me, that this is legitimate sample of the work that goes into the process.

The other preferred ways to get a full picture for review are using the reviews of normal everyday people and what I call diary format reviews.  With the George St. Pierre RushFit DVDs, the Amazon reviews were very helpful because many of them were from people  who had no recent track record of staying in shape. This is the key market that I wanted to speak to.

Frankly it was always the intention of the creators of the George St. Pierre RushFit DVDs that the product compete against P90X. If  you are going to compete against P90X, you had better be able to speak to the great many of us who are not in shape and you better have something worth listening to.

The best possible type of resource for assessing a program like RushFit as it pertains to people starting from scratch is the user diary. This is the format utilized by “Bloody Elbow” magazine writer Jonathan Snowden. He started at 30 pounds overweight and at an advanced age athletically of 35. There were two primary things that came out of huge value from Jonathan’s diary . First, those first two weeks are full of a lot of pain, especially the first week. To see yourself through, means accepting this and simply grasping on to whatever you can on the positive. He noted after week 1 that he had more energy and he could start to feel positive changes.  More workout programs are relinquished in those first 10 days than at any other time.

The other huge point is diet matters in RushFit just like any other home workout regimen. Don’t expect it to be less important because of the grueling total body nature of the work.
