Corbett National Park

Jim Corbett National Park in Uttarakhand State is the oldest national park in India. It is situated in the Nainital district of Uttarakhand State. The park is named after the conservationist Jim Corbett. The park protects the endangered species of Bengal Tiger hence the entry to the park is only to restricted areas. Project Tiger is the initiative of the Government of India to protect the Bengal Tiger.

You have to avail permission from the management of Corbett National Park to visit the park. Day visit permit can be easily obtained from the entry gates itself. The Dhikala zone visit is not allowed during the day time unless you are a part of conducted safari tours organised by the management of the Tiger reserve. If you have a reserved accommodation in Dhikala, entry to this restricted zone is not an issue.

Phoolbagh in Pantnagar is the nearest airport which is situated 50km from the park. The distance to Delhi International Airport is 300 km. The nearest railway station is Ramnagar which is 51 km from the park.
