Corbett National Park
Corbett National Park was established in 1936 and was initially named as Hailey National Park. Jim Corbett was a conservationist and author of many books on Bengal tiger and the park which spreads to around 520kms got the name Corbett National Park. It is situated in Nainital district in Uttarkhand. The topography of this park is varied with marshy lands, river belts, large lakes and grasslands.
Variety of flora and fauna
Corbett National Park was the first park to come under the Project Tiger initiated by Government of India. This park is predominantly a tiger reserve but it has around 50 species of mammals, 110 species of trees, 25 species of reptiles and 580 species of birds.
