I believe that Goal Achievers use several tools to be successful. In my experience success comes even with the use of one of these tools, however when several of these tools are used together, success is accomplished beyond one’s expectation. The following tools are;
1. Goal Setting system
2. Vision Board/Book
3. Mastermind
What is Goal Setting System?
An effective goal setting system has forms and processes that is easy to use to set goal, monitor these goal and achieving those goals. This system may include daily, weekly, monthly or yearly goals. This system may include mind maps, SWOT analysis, action plans, schedules, success & failure forms, obstacles analysis forms and planners.
This goal setting system should help in creating a Goal that follows rules such as;
1. SMART GOALS -Specific, Measurable, Actionable, Reasonable, Time-line
2. SMARTER Goals – Specific, Measurable, Actionable, Reasoned, Time-line, Ethical and Enjoyable, Resourced
3. SIMPLE Goals – Brief, Right deadline, be aware of “per” goals, break “and” goals into 2 goals, intended result
What is a Vision Board/Book?
Vision Board or Vision book is a tool that gives power to your goals. Vision board shows pictures of your written goals. A lot of people like to use boards to help in visualizing the achievement of their your goals. These boards are placed in the house where they can see these boards. Personally, I like Vision Books because I can carry these anywhere. I can easily add or remove any of the pages.
I create my Vision book by cutting pictures from magazines that tells the story of my goals. I also cut or inscribe affirmations or words that help in motivating me to act to achieve my goals.
What is a Master Mind?
Master Mind is a principle that when 2 or 3 people come together in the spirit of supporting each other in the achievement of their personal goals.
