That first year and a half, Hallstrom thought often of quitting. Still working the graveyard shift at Boeing and trying to get the chapel going raised the stresshot bridesmaid dresses level almost to the breaking point.
But Hallstrom turned her skills as an expediter for Boeing to her new business and solved one problem after another.
“One wedding I had for instance, 20 minutes before the bride walks down the aisle, I had to sew up the bridesmaid dress because her zipper had broken.”
Hallstrom also said as the second-born in her family, she aims to make people happy.
While keeping a straight face, Hallstrom also said matter-of-factly that she likes to stay busy.
If A Chapel on Swan’s Trail becomes a year-round wedding and special-event venue, Hallstrom will have succeeded in her two goals.
“This year has worked out well,” Hallstrom said. “This is the first year I’m feeling it in my heart that it’s going to work. Hopefully I’ll make a living and the nest egg will come when I sell it, when I’m old and decrepit.”
